REVIEW: The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream

Hey Belles!

Today we will be reviewing the Body Shop's Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream! You may be thinking "Whaaa.. SEAWEED?! On my face?!" but this product do not smell like seaweed at all. I use this product as my daily day-time moisturiser and it works really well.

This moisturiser is lightweight and has a gel texture. It smells really nice, and if you are afraid of scents, don't worry because the scent will not linger throughout the day. It spreads really well and it provides sufficient day-time moisture to my face. At night, I use a heavier moisturiser, which is also from the Body Shop, which is their Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream.

It comes in standard Body Shop packaging, in a sturdy plastic tub and contains 1.7 fl. oz. of product, which will last for pretty long considering the fact that you only need a little bit of it for your whole face. Comes with a lid thing too to keep your product from being exposed I guess. What I like to do is to scoop some product out with a spatula and place it on the lid. So I can just get the product from the lid instead of jabbing my finger into the tub and urghhh....

The product claims to be a moisturiser that is easily absorbed, non-clogging, oil-free,and hydrating. It leaves the skin feeling fresh, clean, soft and supple with a shine-free, matte complexion. I find that the claims are to a large extent true, as my face indeed is not as oily after using this, as compared to using other daytime moisturisers. I have combination skin and usually get oily around my T-zone area throughout the day, but this product really helped reduced the amount of oil after a whole day out and about. I would still get kinda shiny after maybe 6-7 hours of wear, but compared to the others out there, I'd say the moisturiser has performed its job preeeetty well.

As you can see, this is all you need! It has a very light gel texture and is great for hot and humid weather like ours in Singapore.

Pros:
1) Mattifies skin for a substantial period of time.
2) Feels very light on the skin and does not give you that greasy feeling
3) Smells very fresh. Good to perk you up in the morning

Cons:
1) Comes in a tub, so I guess it's not really very hygienic. But you can use a spatula to scoop some out!

Here are pictures of it on the back of my hand, and you can see how it is easily spread and absorbed into the skin, leaving a matte and smooth finish.

So yeah! In conclusion, I like this moisturiser a lot, and I will continue using it. It costs about S$30.90 if you're interested in getting it. I would recommend it for ladies with combination/oily skin because I doubt this moisturiser will give sufficient moisture throughout the day for those with dry skin. If you have dry skin, maybe try the Vitamin E line or the Aloe line from TBS!

Rating: 9/10!

Cheers and hope you have a great day ahead!

Love,
FDB <3
